A welcoming, two-storey apartment, within a period building in Sandsend, this holiday home is beautifully positioned on the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. The one-bedroom abode is set across the first and second floors, where it benefits from great privacy. Step out from the retreat to while away sunny days and splash in rock pools on the sandy beach across the road. When the tide is out, walk 2 miles along the sand to Whitby. Potter in the village shops in Sandsend, dine out here or head into Whitby for a much wider selection to peruse. While in Whitby, climb the 199 steps up to the abbey ruins, visit the town’s museums and see the famous whalebone arch.
Step into the shared entrance then follow the stairs up to the first floor and let yourselves into your private apartment. The double bedroom, and its en-suite shower room, are at this first-floor level; stairs lead up to the second floor, where the rest of the accommodation, including the family bathroom, with its spa bath, is situated. Also up here is the lounge, where you can sit and take in views out towards Whitby Abbey or watch TV together after your days out. The sofa in this room can be transformed into a bed for two guests. Also on this floor, is the generous kitchen/diner, where you can prepare meals on the gas-fired Aga to enjoy at the table in here or out on the patio.
Pull open the French windows from the kitchen/diner to step out on to the leafy terrace area. Enjoy a meal or a glass of wine out here as the day draws to a close.
