An enticing, 17th century cottage, which has been beautifully restored, yet still presents a wealth of features, this delightful retreat nestles at the centre of Whitby. With two bedrooms, it sleeps four guests and is in a great location for exploring the town, as well as the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and North York Moors National Park. Pack your swimming costumes and towels and walk less than 0.5 miles to the main sandy beach. Head the same distance to the old town to spend time on the smaller Tate Hill Beach. This side of Whitby is also where you will find the 199 steps up to the dramatic abbey ruins. Take a coastal cruise from the harbour, 350 metres away.
Take eight steep steps down to a lower ground-floor level to let yourselves into this cottage. Hang your coats and leave your footwear in the vestibule then head on through to the beautiful lounge, with its stone floor, wooden beams and original salt box. Light the wood burner in the exposed brick chimney breast, then watch TV or chat together. When it is time to prepare meals for your family or friends, head into the equally enticing kitchen/diner to whip something up, then call your party through to join you at the table. Follow the steep, semi-spiral staircase up to the first floor when you are ready to turn in for the night. There are two double bedrooms, each with a TV and en-suite shower room here. An outhouse at this cottage houses a washing machine and freezer.
Sit on the bench to the front of the property to take the sea air or stroll less than 350 metres over to beautiful Pannett Park to relax out in the sunshine.
